I think it is the nature of the gel test that allowed that underwood gold dot to not pull apart. If at its most expanded state it hit bone I'm betting it would have lost a lot of weight or deflected since the pwtals would have been so thin at that point. Its not ideal and I think we are in uncharted territory with that round which is why I just can't recommend it. It would be nice to see the speer 180 at 1225 to see how it performs.

Sam both those vids have issues one is too slow, the other is a 125gr. Who wants 125gr when they make a 140 and 155!! The 155 as loaded by buffalo bore actually hit 1450 on a chronograph through an EAA witness same barrel length roughly as a G20 so I am stoked to see how it performs through gel.

As for the bbq I don't know where a good place might be. I think sac valley would let us do it but I'd prefer a more casual atmosphere out in the woods.

Im in for the BBQ I load for the 10MM and have 300 rounds of 200 Grain jacketed hunting rounds. I no longer fear hunting in wolf country.

I have never seen 125gr. I was hoping it was a typo. I have the 155gr stuff.

I am surprised no one has made a video yet, there are some great guys on youtube with great gel vids, but I guess the DPX is a little pricey.

Another idea was to get some .40S&W HST 180gr. pull those and load them in 10mm and try to get it to go about 1300 fps

Chopinbloc on youtube did the 180 hst and loaded it to about 1200fps with really good expansion. It needs more testing as one round didn't penetrate past 12" but the other went 14.4" I think hst 180 limit will be 1125-1150.

Ideal to me would be 200gr going 1200.

Everything up to 180 gr. is readily available and you have a lot of choices because of the short and weak. With 200 gr. and up you are limited to hardcast lead, Hornady and Nosler that's it. I would love to see more development from more companies past 180 gr. but that's asking too much I wish Norma went back to handgun calibers.
