Like others have said the underwood, buffalo bore, and double tap are great. Stay away from HPR. It ran OK in my 20sf until it tried to chamber the last round. 2 boxes and if jammed the last round on every magazine. YMMV.

Make sure you check the FPS rating of any ammo you're considering. A lot of 10MM ammo will be marketed as 1050 or so FPS, which means it is basically .40S&W power. Good for range use, but your gun can do more for HD. The brands already mentioned have good high power ammo though of course.

Also make sure it's jacketed ammo. Some of the Buffalo Boar stuff isn't.

Most of them those hot loaded underwood JHP are NOT good loads.

Stick to hornady custom ammo 180gr for self defense or similar velocities in other loads. The 200gr xtp underwood is real powerful but since energy dump is not a component of handgun wounding you are better off with a slower load that penetrates roughly the same amount and expands roughly the same diameter. The drawback to the max loads Is muzzle flash, blast, and recoil that is counter productive to self defense.

Buffalo bore is useless and loads crap junk hollowpoints montana gold. Doubletap 200gr nosler isn't bad but realize doubletap hasn't hit a published velocity in YEARS and some loads are nearly 200fps slow. Their 200gr wfngc doesnt even reach 1150 let alone the 1250 the claim on box flap.

Vs say an underwood gold dot going over 1300fps. It is a bullet failure. It has completely shredded. Bullets need to stay together to have a chance to penetrate bone or an arm first before striking a vital.

Hmm that's interesting, never saw any of the Underwood calibers having separation, but then again I dont shoot 10mm. All the other calibers seem to perform exceptionally well in regards to expansion, which is rather limited with XTPs.

I haven't seen enough testing of the copper bullets in 10mm. We need a calguns 10mm bbq and roundup. Ill contribute to buying a clear ballistics block!!
