barrel brush, dental pick and rag, just disassemble and run the rag through. you can use some solvent, just make sure its dry prior to use.

disassemble and clean through out using Hoppe's #9. Swab till dry, then clean using large swab soaked with 91% rubbing alcohol. Let dry, (takes about 1 minute), then re-assemble.

      That is pretty much it.

How often do you all clean your dies?
It's not the flaming ruins; it's that you lit the fire.

You are supposed to clean your dies?

I never noticed my Lee Dies getting nasty.

With that said, I have wiped them off/out after changing turrets to move to a different caliber.

Did any of you clean them before you used them as the instructions state?

I look inside them, and when they need it, a couple shots of gun cleaner, maybe a little brush work, and clean as a whistle. The lube is supposed to go on cases, not dies, call me old fashioned.

I flush them with Dillon lube, then wipe with a towel. then I leave some Dillon lube inside for rust prevention.

Sorry, I threw out the manual after I set them up. I do not recall Lee telling me to take them apart and clean them though. Do they say that?

Yes ... invariably ... they are generally full of that Cosmoline stuff for shipping. Even RCBS recommends that you fully clean your dies before 1st use.

As to regular maintenance ... I usually clean my dies after a few hundred rounds or so ... maybe a little more for pistol. Since I only size and seat using fully ultrasonically cleaned brass, I do not have to clean the dies so much.

Yeah I actually read that part after I started. Seems good to go though, I had a few dented cases but once I started using the lube pad instead of slopping it on with my fingers I didn't see any more.
