Ended up doing some horse this week and ended up with 4#'s of Titewad. Was looking at the IMR website and found some load data for .45 with 230g lead. Anybody using Titewad for any other pistol loads?

Best use for TiteWad would be .45Auto and .38Special. Have no .38 Special data.
TiteWad is right there with N310 and Nitro 100. There are ways to work up loads, but not in an internet site.

I've developed loads in 40/38/45 using Titewad. The powder is ultra fast and performs very similar to Hodgdon's Clays. I use both of these powders in 3/4 oz 12 ga. target loads and load them almost identically grain for grain.

It is good for low recoil/low velocity loads because it builds up pressure really fast and leaves very little soot or unburned flakes around. 3 grains is the typical load for the calibers I've used it in (compared to about 5g Unique/Universal). Of course, always start low and work up and don't try to achieve "normal" velocities with this powder or you'll go way over the SAAMI pressure limits.

That 4 pound jug should be good for about 9,000 pistol loads.

I think I have titewad, or maybe titegroup. I think it has like, money in the title so I think it is titewad but I could be wrong. I was gonna give it a try for 44 mag once because the grain count was so low, but I decided that just because it is listed in the BoLee does NOT mean you should try it especially after that lilgun 44 mag crap...

I had originally bought it for .45. Was hoping it was going to be a little more versatile than that... Haven't seen any other published load data, other that for .45 (in pistols that is).

Just bought 8lbs of it to use in some 45acp rounds. I wasn't too interested in top performance or accuracy since the only 45acp I have is a Vector and Mac10 it's mostly for fun plinking and mag dumps at the range.

Under a 180g Lead Truncated Cone Lee bullet 1.135" COL:
2.7g averages 734 fps
3.0g averages 766 fps

2.5-3.0g is about the right load for 158g .38 special as well as 230g 45ACP.

Remember, these are are intended to be low velocity/low recoil loads. Don't try to get high or even medium velocities out of Titewad or you'll risk going over pressure in your gun.

During my research I learned a lot of competitive shooters use Titewad. A lot of them compared it to Clays.
