Got mine from Harbor Freight for $40. SS pins for $26. Can do about a 2 pounds of brass per load. This would be about 110 223 cases, or 250 9mm cases. Don't forget the Lemmi Shine and Dawn! Nice results:

Yeah. Lots of folks get these if they want to process brass on a smaller scale.

I got a thumler because, well, because at the time I could afford it and I had a LOT of brass to clean. I still do have a lot of brass to clean, but I only do it when I need to do it.

I have wondered though if the smaller size slows the pins down a bit inside and whether or not that has a negative effect on the cleaning action of the pins.

Bah, prolly not big enough of an effect to notice too much.

There are people on Ebay that sell the pins in one pound quantities as well. You don't get as good of a price per pound, but it is an option for you.

I was actually at HF and those tumblers looked really small.

They are small. I usually put 75 pieces of .223 brass into each drum with one pound of pins. That is about all it will handle, but it gets the job done. I don't shoot 2,000 rounds a week, so it works out well for me. If you shoot a lot, the bigger tumblers are the way to go. That being said, if I do one or two batches every night, and a few extra on the weekend, I can easily tumble 2,500 pieces of .223 brass in a weeks time.

The HF Tumblers are fine if you don't shoot a lot. If you pile through the brass, I agree, a larger tumbler will make your life easier.
