Awesome table! Thanks for the info. I've heard that it is a very "fluffy" powder because the grains are like tiny donuts or little Cheerio shaped pieces. Thus 10 grns for a 150 grn .308... methinks its worth trying Btw, anyone ever load up 70 grns of Pyrodex FFG under a 405 grn .45-70 bullet? Anyone?

I just picked up some Trail Boss and Unique today for some reduced loads in my Enfield, Swiss, and maybe the Garand.

I've used Trail Boss in .38 special, .44 special, .303 British, and 7.62x54r. It worked fine in all those, but of course it is on the weak side for the handguns and very weak for the rifles. Dunno if it will cycle an M1 Garand.

I was wondering if would be powerful enough to cycle a Garand. If not at I can use it for my bolt guns.

Beetle, were you able to use a standard bullet weight in your rifles or did you have to drop down to a lighter weight bullet? I have 174gr for the Enfield and 168gr for the K31, will these be too heavy?

For the 7.62x54r I started with 150 grain Hornady soft points and it worked very well. Then I tried the 123 grain Zmax bullet just to see what would happen and it worked okay but the 150 grain load was more fun. Either way, it is just gonna be a pop gun so I didn't want to waste any of my 174 grain BTHP with a trail boss load.

For the .303 brit, I just used the 123 grain Zmax since I had a lot of them and want to save the heavy bullets for real loads. But the heavy bullets should work just fine with trail boss - just follow the directions in the pdf.
