    Advise on .32 auto

I've been reloading for a few years now and have done all the regulars in rifle and pistol.
When I first started I had all kinds of powder. Now I just have three.
For my pistol rounds I use Power Pistol.
I am now going to start to reload .32 auto. At the last show I picked up some 85 gn projectiles.
The websites I looked at for info do not have anything on this heavy a bullet.
Can anyone give me some advise on how much to use. Low and high amounts.
    Thanks to all.

    Hey Joe,

So, first question: What diameter are the projectiles you bought? .312, or 3.14? You need the former; don't use 3.14 for this application.

Second question: Are these projectiles cast lead, or copper jacketed?

The Lee manual gives you 2 loads for an 85gr XTP:
    Accur #5 - ssg=2.2gr - neg=2.4gr
    Accur #2 - ssg=1.6gr - neg=1.8gr

The Lee manual gives you 2 loads for an 84gr lead bullet:
    Accur #5 - ssg=2.0gr - neg=2.2gr
    Accur #2 - ssg=1.6gr - neg=1.8gr

    Hope that helps...

      +1 for the data.

Also, I am sure you already know this, but you need to be careful with the powder charge and not be sloppy with it at all since it is such a small charge. Apparently variations as low as .2 can possibly cause you problems so just be careful with that. I wish I could add more but This is all I got without going outside and looking at my BoLy. I will have a look and update my post if I find anything of value in the 49th BoLy.

      Okay.

According to BoLy you might have a few more choices.
      P 331 lists the following:

85gr #2 Alloy .984 OAL (looks like a Lead/cast/linotype or whatever ya call them) BoLy ALSO advises to NOT use anything larger in diameter then .312
      700x 1.3 ssg 1.7 neg 685-830
      PB 1.5 ssg 2.1 neg 665-830
      SR-7625 1.7 ssg 2.2 neg 675-860
      Bullseye 1.5 ssg 1.9 neg 660-795
      Red Dot 1.5 ssg 2.1 neg 665-895
      Green Dot 1.6 ssg 2.3 neg 680-845
Unique 1.8 ssg 2.5 neg 650-860 (BoLy says this is the best for this load)
