    Brass Tumblers

I did a search and can't find a lot about tumblers. I'm slowly but surely assembling equipment so I can begin reloading. I'm now looking for a brass tumbler. I've looked at so many on line and read the reviews that my head is spinning. I was leaning towards the Lyman 2500 Pro Magnum but after read the reviews on several sites I'm again not sure.
Any input would be very helpful. Thanks

Any of the Vib type will work. I have a Midway one I have had for many years. My friend has a Lyman one and it works fine for him. So peole have the ones from Harbor Frieght and they seem fine.

The fact is probably they are all made in China now anyway.
Get one and treated walnut as well as treated corn cob media and you are good to go.
A 30cal will reach out and touch them. A 50cal will kick their butt.

As a loyal blue pill swallower, I would say the Dillon CV2001, does 1300 .223 at a time.

      -however-

I bought the lyman 2500. it was only $80, and does 1000 at a time. the extra 300 is not worth an extra $120 to me.

Just don't get the auto flo, it doesn't work.

Thanks. I'm not really looking for capacity as much as performance and longevity. How long have you had your's and how much have you used it?

          Brass Tumblers

Buy a cheap vibratory from harbor freight, lifetime warranty and cheap. I have a berry's only because it was cheaper than harbor freights at the time, i have ran the berries for 1000's of hours.

If capacity is your concern I'd do this http://biggdawgtumblers.net/

I followed his plans and built mine and finished my first batch of 223. 650 cases I was able to do in 1.5 hours they are mirror bright. It's a process to rinse and dry after but they get so clean I wont have to tumble them again for awhile.

I have a Lyman and an RCBS, they're both just fine. Those, Dillon, Franklin, Hornady, Harbor Freight, none of them make their own. They probably all come from the same factory on the outskirts of Beijing.

I like my Lyman for the fact that I can pull the plug on the tumbler bowl, and it will empty almost all of the media into a container. I shake the cases as I take them out, and maybe a teaspoon of media is left in the cases. You can get a smaller liquid tight bowl with a clear lid to do specialized polishing.

Yeah, NOT really looking for capacity. If I were I'd probably go with the small cement mixer. Thanks thought, nice DYI.

I was wondering about that. They all look very similar and some are identical except for the color.

Harbor Freight's web page says 90 day warranty.

"Manufacturer Warranty Detail We guarantee this product to be free from defects in materials and workmanship 90 days from the date of purchase. Limitations apply."

I might add I got the seperator kit from Midway years ago when I got the tumbler. You really will want a seperator kit also. Makes things faster and easier.

Got a cheap vibrating bowl tumbler for $40 shipped from amazon. works fine
with Desert blend from Petco. I've forgotten and left it run all night more than once with no Ill effects. Nu Finish really shines up the brass.

I just received this tumbler kit last week. Put it to work today. The results were really good, as well as the price.

Look at the hornady M-2, has the best capacity and price of all the mid-range tumblers. Mine has held up perfect over the years. Look around you can find it in the mid 70's plus shipping.
