I use a 50/50 blend of walnut and corn to get the best of both at the same time. I also use regular liquid turtle wax as there is nothing special about nu finish over any other brand of car wax IMHO and I already had some in the garage. Maybe some day I will build myself a wet stainless tumbler as that yields the cleanest brass I have seen yet.

I ultrasonic first in my own liquid concoction with it heated to at least 50 centigrade. Roll on towel after a quick drain, rest of moisture just evaporates due to heat. Run in tumbler with corn and cabelas polish compound, cases looks like new.

Corn did not get the job done. Switched to walnut and am very happy. Considering stainless.

I prefer half Lyman Walnut w/red polish and half untreated corn. Works great.

50 pound bag of Walnut Shell from Feed Store $15 lasts several years
A dryer sheet and Nu Finish polish

I just recently added 1500 BB's to the mix....

Jury is still out on the BB's

                    I use a Thumbler's Tumbler ( Rotary )

Corn with some goo that came with the Frankford kit
Tried walnut once. Still have dust showing up 9 months later.

20/40 corn on deprimed brass. Small enough not to pack the primer pocket and too large for the flash hole.
You do know that cleaning brass is the least important reloading activity?

I use walnut to clean range brass, than corn cob with Nu Finish on the loaded ammo for 20-30 minutes to clean lube off.

Lizard litter -- fine granule walnut -- plus a dollop of old auto polish and a spritz of simple green --
