I used walnut when I first got the sickness, then changed to corn after some sage advice, the corn gives brass the "new" look and does a great job.

          - 24lb box of walnut hulls from Harbor Freight. ($25)
          - NuFinish ($10)

So far, the above has lasted me 2 years and there's a lot left to use before I need to buy again.

Walnut, because it's cheaper and available at my local feed store. Just add a little polishing liquid and I'm good to go.

              3. Ultrasonic for that good clean feeling

Stainless beats all. It beats corn. It beats walnut. It beats sand. It beats Chuck Norris.

They all will clean ok. I started out using walnut then switched to corn with NuFinish in both. In my experience, corn cleans faster and the brass is alot shinier than when using walnut.

Corn with a dryer sheet and that's it.

Walnut from start to finish... occasional cap of NuFinish to treat the media and dryer sheets for each load.

Walnut to clean, corn to polish. I only use corn on rifle brass though since I use it to delube the brass. The only problem with corn is that you need to check the flash hole so it is a (quick) additional step. Handgun brass only gets walnut for a clean.
