There are a lot of places on the internet selling once fired brass. They would help you determine reasonable prices.

        Also, check out ammobrasstrader.com

Also check your local scrap dealer. Copper prices are hovering at near record highs so brass prices are quite lucrative.

Normally for 9mm brass I am willing to pay up to $35 to 40 per 1000 after shipping. I don't reload 45 yet but I have been picking it up at the range.

                  I've seen prices around

                  $0.025/9mm
                  $0.05 /45acp

                  Then add on shipping.

Scrap prices are going to be much less, I think around $2/pound and there's something like 88 .45acp cases per pound. Sell the brass to reloaders. You'll get more money and helping out the reloaders as well. Not to mention, reloading is quite environmentally friendly

Knew I would find a thread like this

Just got a .45acp, might be using it.

Depending on brand between $45-75 per 1000
If I wanted to pick up my own brass - what is an ok brand? So far I've gone through 200 rounds of Blazer Brass, input?

I've not been watching the classifieds on calguns - 5 cents per case for once fired .45acp 'reasonable'?

I really have no clue - I don't know enough about this to be successful with the search either....

Leave the primers in and sell them 'as is'?

Take .22LR cases to the scrap yard?

                      ?

check on www.gunbroker.com for pricing. I have bought some brass off of there before.

Usually, the primers are left in and the cases are uncleaned.

Oh, and shipping is on top of what I said.

                            Thanks.

Think I see what is happening - new unfired brass is not a lot less expensive than buying pre-made bullets as per Midway & Natchez, but the once fired brass seems under 10 cents per round - but not available at this time. Makes me want to collect my own brass for sure.

Q - is Blazer Brass as reasonable brand for reselling brass?

Q - take the .22LR brass to scrap yard?

Blazer Brass loads just like any other brass casing..

22 lr brass can be recycled this way, if you have enough of it, or you can opt to buy the corbin tool ($400) that turns .22lr brass into light .224 cal bullet jackets to make into .224 cal bullets for your OLL.

                              General prices:

                              45 acp - $.06 ea
                              9mm - $.02 - $.03 ea
                              40 S&W - $.03 ea
                              38 spl - $.03 - $.04 ea
                              44 magnum - $.25-$.30 ea
                              .223/5.56 - Unprocessed = $.045 ea
                              .223/5.56 - Processed (sized, deprimed, primer pocket swaged, cleaned) = $.09 - $.10 ea

All of these prices are about what I'd sell and/or pay for brass.
