Cut Hands while Trimming...Anyone else?

Every single time I want to trim brass, I end up cutting myself. I swear I have 10 small cuts all over my fingers. They are bleeders to, takes a while for them to stop.

This is the reason why Im getting the Dillon Trimmer in a couple days. No more cutting my fingers.

Does this happen to anyone else?

Well Im using the Lee trimmer with Lee Zip Trim. I hate the thing but it was cheap and didnt know any better when I got it.

I don't remember getting cuts too often, but I do know my fingers were worn down by using the Lee trimming tools to trim a few hundred HXP cases. I think it was from turning the knurled hand tools over and over, it takes so much finger pressure that my hands were pretty well torn up.

How about getting a brass sliver??? Those suck!!

I use the lee setup that you attach to a drill. I've never had a cut. I was taught at a young age that sharp things cut you...so don't touch them.

Never cut myself while trimming. I have used a Lee trimmer, Wilson, Forster, as well as a drill and file.

Your equipment must be possessed.

i had the lee crap but i got sick of the case spinning free so now i use possum hollow with power adapter

I used a lee trimmer in a drill chuck and got cut a bunch. Never on the case mouth though. Occasionally the depth rod would bounce the case off center (if the flash hole was not centered) causing the shell holder to unscrew and my hand to bump against the shell holder. Totally knuckle buster.

LE wilson trimmer and a giraud trimmer knockoff and no more problems. I'll never use a Lee trimmer again. I like some lee products but the trimmer is not one of them.

I've only used the zip trim for my .223, no problems or cuts yet. Are you using the case length gauge with the cutter?

Yeah that lee cutter lock stud cut my fingers up a few times

Have used a RCBS, Forster and now a CTS and WFT and have never once cut myself trimming.

I use the Lee set up in a drill, never had a problem. What are you cutting your hands on? I can't think of how a cut would happen unless something slipped.
