    Hornady Ammo Plant Flawless Functionality!!!!!!

Ive mastered the art of the Hornady Ammo Plant.

Everything is adjusted and tweaked, the parts all working in perfect harmony.

Behold the videographic evidence of its flawless performance: (cant figure out how to imbed )

I was halfway through a test run of 100 rounds before i remembered i should video tape it. Its really shaky, my stool was too high and it was akward to hold the camera so low and pull the handle at the same time. The result was 100 for 100. Thats 100 rounds with 0 stoppages or hickups, i was going kind of slow trying to video tape it, but ill get some kind of camera mount and Next time i will try to set a timer so i can see what a realistic round per hour count is.

If i fill up 10 primer tubes in advance im confident i can get 1200 rounds an hour.

The press itself always performed very well, ive learned a few tricks as ive gone along and now it has 0 issues. A few of the more important tricks for the press itself:

    1. Keep it clean and keep the pawls adjusted properly so the motion isnt jerky enough to spill powder out of the case. As long as you do this you should have no priming issues.

    2. Lock that shellplate down TIGHT with a hex wrench, finger tight wont cut it for me. That alone solved a bunch of problems from brass canting and catching on the edge of the resizing die, to primer seating, to smooth cycling and spilled powder.

The casefeeder itself always worked very well, but the slide aparatus that catches dropping brass was always finicky (too much clearance for the brass and it wold bounce off the plate sometimes). I solved this with a small plastic tube over the funnel so the brass has nowhere to bounce too. The casefeeder was not hard to get working at 100%.

The bulletfeeder has been the largest problem for me until now. Well, not the feeder itself, but the feeding dies. I couldnt get them adjusted right. On the advice of youtube, i polished the inside of the collet and now have 100% functionality.

Next plan is to find something to hold my camera so i can concentrate on pulling the lever, go for 1 hour timed, and record how many failures occured in the first 1000 rounds. If i get less than 10 stoppages i will be satisfied.

Im incredibly happy with this machine now, considering the relatively low investment, and the sheer quantity (and quality!) of ammo im producing, it was the best reloading decision ive ever made.

Yeah, im gonna keep it and put the money i would have spent on a dillon towards components.

By the way, i found that blue dillon bin in my garage, its not mine so i think it must be from the 550 you brought to the clinic.

Also i still have all of Twistyd1's stuff

And i think someone (was it Chickenlips?) was missing some calipers, ive been scrounging around and havent found anything yet.

I would watch this video with full sound on loop play. Congratulations on figuring this out!

I like my Hornady. I thought I didn't need any of the feeders until now. Looks good.
