    Rem Oil as case lube.

So I figured I've seen people use motor oil as lube, might as well try this. I can't imagine I'm the first to try this. I know oil residue + primers = bad juju. Pretty sure it will all be gone in the tumbler process.

Google how to make case lube. I wouldnt use any oil that didnt evaporate quickly due to it possibly having a negative effect on your primer.

It will work for lubrication purposes, but it's not a great idea to use an oil of any sort when dealing with building ammunition for pretty obvious reasons. A wax or lanolin based product would be your best bet here. Rem oil is much better used for lubing your firearm IMHO

Just buy (or make) some dillon case lube and call it a day. It's cheap.

Basically a mix of lanolin and alcohol. A google will find you the recipe if you want to go the DIY route

Trying to reinvent the wheel? Or save money?

Best just to use the RCBS spray or Dillon spray

My answer is why. Case lube is one of the cheapest expenses in the whole reloading process. Just buy a good case lube. Hornady "One Shot" is what I use. There are several other good ones out there....

In a pinch, you can use mink oil for shoes. Your local drugstore should have it. Don't use gun oil. It will get stuck in your die and cause oil dents on your case shoulders.

Case lube is cheap enough so why go thru the hassel of making yer own.

I've just been trying to make due with wats available. I don't believe in buying when you can make due. but if its really that cheap and not worht the hassle I guess I'll just get it.

It's not worth the hassle, Remoil is too thin and you will get a case stuck. Get a tin of Kiwi Mink Oil for $4.00-$5.00 or just get the proper case lube.

I like the Dillon lanolin spray for the big jobs and Imperial wax for the small jobs.

For off the shelf case lube replacements, the Kiwi Mink Oil does work pretty well as does Chapstick. Use them like you would the Imperial wax. A little on the finger and wipe down the case.

A bottle of the Dillon lube is under 10 bux and will last for years. Rem Oil is much more expensive comparatively.

Germz in my opinion -- no bad idea. Rem Oil will eventually accumulate on the cleaning media and re-deposit on the brass. Sure you can change out the cleaning media but why take a chance right?
