Anybody have any reports on these primers. I have always used CCI for my rifles. I need some SRP.

Wolf and Tula are one and the same. Just different packaging.Luck favors the prepared.
The original battle plan did not survive initial contact with the enemy.

Being as how I just got my order of 15000 Tula primers from Powder Valley I am very glad so many have such confidence in them. I got 5000 each of SRP, SPP,& LRP. Why I got 5000 LRP's is beyond me, I guess I better start shooting my AR-10 more.If you want change you have to put in your 2 cents, you can't just sit on the sidelines and whine.Comment

I have only used them for 223 in a AR and they were good as can be I guess. They all went bang.
Based on a lot of people online, they love them for pistol.
Too bad the days of when they were $15 per 1K are long gone. Sad as this was only 6 months ago.Comment

Very common in highpower shooting. Tend to be more consistent in testing than CCI, but their naming is a bit odd. The best primer to fill all uses is the KSRM aka the 5.56 primer. It's not really a magnum but it has a thicker floating firing pin cup.
TULA designations from Wiedners:
SMALL RIFLE PRIMER (part # KSR) - Used as a standard small rifle primer. Perfect for the 30 carbine and 223 standard loads. Many people use this primer in bench and other loads for the 223. This primer is a copper colored primer.
SMALL RIFLE MAGNUM PRIMER (part# KSRM) - This is the primer we had before for use in the 5.56 loads and hot 223 loads. A thick cup for the higher pressure. We sold a lot of these primers earlier this year. The new lot is brass colored instead of nickel.
SMALL RIFLE 223 (part # KSR223) NEW NEW This is the newest primer available in the Wolf line. It is ever so slightly hotter than the small rifle magnum primer and it comes with a brass colored thick cup. This primer can be used in place of the SRM primer or used when a different powder is used that is hard to ignite.weg: That device is obsolete now. They replaced it with wizards.

I prefer the KSR223 and Tula SRM556... Hotter charge and thick cup.. But that’s probably because I also use CCI 450 and #41 (generally always with ball powders)
I haven’t tested it myself but some reported very small FPS variances between the two (450 vs SRM556)
My only gripe with Wolf/Tula (pistol and rifle primers) is find them harder to seat on a progressive press… I typically default to using a hand priming tool when dealing with them to get better results.
Winchester and CCI primers have a very smooth workflow on my press and is my preference.ExtremeXComment

This is true for me as well on a Dillon 550. I handprime everything that I use TULA primers in, run the Winchester/CCIs in the press for my mixed headstamp short line practice ammo.weg: That device is obsolete now. They replaced it with wizards.

Didn't CCI mention that their FIRST priority was to fulfill ammo orders for the govt FIRST before they released any primers to the public?
Is that in my head?
them if they said that.
Tula and Wolf are my friends for LIFE. They apparently do NOT have that problem or attitude.
97% of my primers that I have used have been Wolf and Tula. All I run now is the Tula SRP kvm223 or something. They work great. Lately I have been using nothing but LPP from Tula and even LPM. They ALL have been great. Only ONCE did I have a primer fail to go off. It took 5 trigger pulls but that Deagle fired and I think it was because I limpwristed putting the primer in. I should have sat it better and double checked my work. BUT IT FIRED!
As far as I am concerned, Tula/wolf rule the primer world. CCI if you have money and do not care about screwing over the ruskies. Winchester if you like soft as butter primers and need no force to put them in. But my Deagle LOVES Tula and Wolf stuff. And my Operator loves the Tula as well.
OH SWEET! And they have the COPPER COLORED PRIMERS TOO NOW? AWESOME! Those just look TOTALLY cool in a nickel or brass shell on the floor...Last edited by stilly; 06-13-2013, 2:33 PM.7 Billion people on the planet. They aint ALL gonna astronauts. Some will get hit by trains...
