Recommend a good manual case trimmer. Please

So I have just about everything I need to begin reloading except for some little things. For example, a case trimmer. I understand many of you will say giraud but at this time I cannot afford that( soon to be college student). So can some please recommend to me a good manual case trimmer. I have been considering the two Lyman trimmers as well as the Hornady case trimmer.

The trimmer itself is less than $10, even the ball grip version. I have both.
The gauge and shellholder sets are also less than $10. I have a set for 9mm and .223.

It's about as manual as it gets, but quick work with a cordless drill. The ball grip cutter is actually very comfortable.

CTS and a cordless drill. I use it for both .223 and .308 and it works great. Cuts clean, little to no deburring needed.

What calibers do you plan to reload? If you will be doing a lot of 223 or something similar, I would get something like the WFT, CTS or Possum Hollow and attach it to a power drill. Manual trimmers get old REAL fast after about 50 cases and your hands are cramping.

i have the lyman universal which is nice, but in hindsight i wish i'd spent the money on the power one. i HATE trimming brass. once you get it set it's really pretty quick, but i work enough at work. most other reloading things are soothing to me but trimming kinda pisses me off for some reason. save the money and buy a power trimmer, whatever brand. you'll thank yourself in the long run.

think of it like a drill bit... it chucks up to any drill, drill press, or motor with a chuck.

Watch some videos on youtube to get an idea of operation.

I use my CTS by hand, battery drill, and drill press depending on what im doing that day.

Excellent choice for a manual trimmer, especially if you will be trimming more than one caliber.

I have been using an "Original Forster Case Trimmer" since 1980 without an issue. I have used it on everything from 22 Hormet to 7.62x54r. Over the year I have had no problem finding the pilots and collets to trim any of the cases I reload for.
