    Where is the ammo?

Went to buy ammo on line and even the biggest suppliers have almost no ammo left. Those that did have ammo were charging 200%. Have I been asleep? Where is the ammo?

Welcome to 4th quarter 2012. Actually, 'ammo started becoming more available again just a couple of months ago; I could walk into any Wal*Mart or Turner's and USUALLY find what I needed. Lately however, 'ammo is once again becoming more scarce. Like you, maybe I was asleep in my cave, and there was another mass shooting or something that I missed.

I used to advise everyone to just wait it out, like all of the previous panic sessions, but....this one seems different...

I don't always save the world, but when I do, it's in 24 hours or less...

Yup, you have been asleep, one of those ugly face, drooling all over sleep, lol
It has been months since any thing normal has even smiled on our sport.
Many folks that haven't been in the sport or stopped shooting for a while are surprised at the lack of and price when ammo is available.
I have been lucky the last few weeks at Walmart. I just bought 3 boxes of 50, Federal 45, 20 a box, a few months ago it was 17.50. I traded 440 round spam can of 7.62x54R for 2000 rounds of 22lr. In this time of the Democrat, we must be creative. If you have old gun parts, old ammo or something of value, go on craigslist and trade. They have a rule about selling ammo or guns so put your ad in code so the quick fingered old women don't flag your ad.
Mine read, mosin, 40 spam for 2000, 22 LR.

The main reason the ammo is scarce is because of us stocking them. It's a sad truth. The prices are also gone way over our imaginations. If you want the prices to go down, don't stock up anymore. If you already have enough for your needs, stay with it. Don't be afraid there won't be any ammo left. Once the retailers and manufacturers see the slowness in demands, they'll release more inventories and the prices will go down for sure.

There is almost no ammo on the shelves and there are almost no firearms on the shelves.

That's 'cuz we're buying everything they can make as fast as they can make it.

We, and our friends, used to just casually go get the ammo we needed when we wanted to go shoot. You can't do that now. So even if we never had the " stock up and hoard " mentality before, we're forced to have it now. All that money tied up in our own little ammo stash corner that we never used to need. So then when non gun people see it they say "0h my God, are you now some kind of survivalist or something", and it makes us look like we're getting ready for something when we just have no choice. We have all been turned into ammo hoarders by the government. A sociopolitical transformation.
