    Looking for powder

Anyone know of any places that have powder available for sale?

Cabelas had a bunch of Hodgdon powders yesterday. All they had though were 1 LB bottles, and a limit of 2 per customer. Kinda makes the 27.50 hazmat fee plus $10 shipping hurt.

Lots of places have powder. Your location and what you are looking for would be helpful.

I bought some 700x and IMR 4064 from 3rd Generation last week, not sure what they have now in stock. There is a recent thread with several sources you can check for powder http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/s...d.php?t=750493. Are you looking for handgun or rifle powder?

I'm running low on Hodgdon Clays, located in North Los Angeles County if anyone has a line on it.

                  Thanks

Got to work for it boys, it's all out there. Put notifications out everywhere: Graf's, Gamaliel, Natchez and etc. Check Powder Valley a couple of times a day and on Facebook.
Watch this forum, The Firing Line, Brian Enos, Sig Forum, Glocktalk and such.
There is no powder I have not been able to obtain and without getting hosed and I have seen many powders out there I don't need.
i didn't even start until December and I'm swimming in components (highly worried about the pukes in the legislature).

Yeah, but powder needs to be bought locally. And Win231/HP38, 2400, H110 are REALLY REALLY hard to find. Or I've been really, really unlucky.

I beat the primer thing to death by paying up..... Same for bullets and brass.

But POWDER, good gosh. Unless you are looking for rifle powder, or Trail Boss (which I have), I've stuck out finding large pistol powders...

Saying 'not to threadcrap' implies threadcrapping. But if you DO find some, let me IN!

Why does powder need to be bought locally? W231 is hard to find on-line but I've found it in 8lbs increments. HP-38 is not that tough, see it fairly often.

Umm because in 1lb sizes the prices = hazmat shipping fee? i.e. doubling the price.

                            From what I've read HP38 == Win231.

Well, I would agree if need or finances dictate purchases in 1lbs increments.
Cabelas now limits to only 2 pound maximum and I pass on those but the other day I scored 2/8lbs of Bullseye and 6lbs of Power Pistol from Gamaliel. The discount by buying 8 pounders plus lack of sales tax pretty much evens everything out and I keep right on shooting.
Bullets i have found pretty easy if you stay on it and are willing to deviate from Precision, Xtreme or Montana Gold.
                              Primers are tough.
yes, my understanding on W231/HP-38 is the same.
