did a search and didn't find anything on cut shells...Came across this video tonight and it seems interesting but the shell is bigger than the Barrel, is this guy giving bad advice or is this something that is Common....Thanks

Personally, I'd rather try wax slugs that cut shells.

They work well in my H&R Pardner pump defender. I actually though about making a block template so one could just drop a shell in, and press 3 blades down to get a perfect cut every time (3 slices, and 3 notches), but I lack the ability.

They work well for me @ 50yd, if you cut them enough.

Oh, I would not shoot them without a backstop of some sort. I assume they could go quite some distance downrange. Beware of what is beyond your target if using these, like a slug, or rifle projectile...

Why not just use slugs.

Cut Shells

I may have seen it all.
Let's say your Quail hunting and a Pig or deer steps out. You pull out your knife and quickly cut your bird shot. You bag some meat.
cheapo but pretty cool slug affect.(You might just be a red neck)

I had to laugh about the "lost art" comment. I kept watching, waiting for the art.

My friends dad showed us that in the late 70's, called them hillbilly slugs. I call them red neck slugs now.

They had a couple Rambler station wagons in the back of their property, we made some nice holes in the fenders & doord with them
