    Lube for single stage press

Tried the search and not coming up with much.

Have been loading for 6 months or so and have a Hornady Lock and Load single stage press.

Used many lubes on the press (read: not cases, but the press):

    White Lithium grease
    Slick 50
    3 in 1
    Moly Lube
    Dry lubes

not a fan of WD40, as it's a solvent not really great as a lube for long
Seems all of the lubes work for a while then the ram starts to become harder to work and then begins to sweak...after about 500 pulls.

I saw one thread about using synthetic motor oil...will try that next.

Anyone have good success with a particular product on a single stage press???

    Thanks in advance!

I've got a Lee challenger and I use Remoil on it. Actually, any gun oil/lubricant should work. Just make shure you brush off the residue from used primers you decap. They tend to leave alot of burnt leftovers.

I use Weapon Shield CLP because it's what I have on hand.

On my RCBS presses I use a shot of Tri-Flow every few years after many thousands of rounds. On my Hornady 50bmg press I have had it 5+ years and have not lubed it yet. But I have only loaded about 900 rounds with it.

I wipe the ram clean and use a little sythetic 0w20 every other time or so.

Gun oil. It's what I've used.

I use Break-free and wipe my Rockchucker every few thousand reloads.

I have to pull my manual turret apart every few thousand times I decap, shape & bells brass with it.

The stiffening up of the action tends to be more from being dirty than anything else.

3in 1 is what I use on my Rockchucker.

Hornady dry lube seems to work fine. I've also used M-Pro7 CLP and FrogLube.

I've been using Turbine oil with zoom spout applicator since day one (98'). Every few thousand strokes I would wipe off the gunk off the ram and lightly lube it. The pivot points I would take apart for more thorough cleaning and lubrication with same product.
