Are there any good powder measures out there that can consistently throw 1.5-2.0 grains of Bullseye? I really wanted a Lee Micro Disk kit but they have been discontinued, so I'm not sure what to substitute it with.

Powder measure for tiny charges?

If you got the money I think a Hornady LNL or RCBS Uniflow could be good for you.
If you are mounting it to a Lee Classic Turret press you can go with a LNL powder measure + LNL case linkage + pistol rotor. ($175 for all three or about $130 without extra rotor)
I just got the pistol rotor and tube to see how low I can go but they say .5gr to 17gr or something like that. I think the smallest that I got the regular/standard to throw was about 2gr. I MIGHT be able to go smaller but I did not try it out, if you got one you should see what you can adjust for before looking for the pistol rotor.
What are you reloading for 1.5gr? .380?
I was planning on reloading .380 and I think a glimpse or two I spied about a 2gr chargefor it with some stuff.Last edited by stilly; 03-08-2013, 6:42 PM.7 Billion people on the planet. They aint ALL gonna astronauts. Some will get hit by trains...

I have an RCBS little dandy powder measure
They are cheap and if you got the 00 and 0 rotor you would be GTG
It throws accurately
It is a nice little powder measure. Gets expensive if you get all the rotors"While it may come as a surprise to the authors of the legislation, most semi-automatic pistols do in fact come with a pistol grip"Malthusianism is the idea that population growth is potentially exponential while the growth of the food supply is arithmetical at best.Comment

RCBS Uniflow should have no problem doing this wellComment

One thing you could give a try, if you already have an Auto Disk, is pick a cavity size you don't use on one of the disks, fill it with JB weld, pick an appropriate drill size to give you the proper diameter hole (the Lee chart will get you close on the CC's you need), step up till it is throwing the volume you want. That is along the lines of what I do when I am between powder bushings when loading shot shells.
Good luck, whatever way you choose to go.When asked what qualities he most valued in his generals, Napoleon said, "give me lucky ones."Comment

I have had good luck using my RCBS Little Dandy with rotors 00, 0, 1.

I think I am 3rd to mention the RCBS Little Dandy. The different rotors can be purchased reasonable if you change rates later.I have used the Uniflow for years on rifle down to pistol, but the Little Dandy is much better for the pistol.
A old unit that works well is the Lyman. They are around $20-$30 on ebay etc.Comment

Well, I came up with a very simple solution. I just made a couple of bushings and stuck them in one of the existing disks. The smaller one drops 1.9gr of Bullseye, and the larger one drops a bit under 2.2gr.

You mean you MACHINED them?
Cheater...
while you are at it though, I would consider beveling the edges so that there is no powder stuck on the top of them7 Billion people on the planet. They aint ALL gonna astronauts. Some will get hit by trains...

I considered it, but I've loaded a couple hundred rounds so far and they seem fine as-is. The nice thing about these is that they are a light press fit, so I can pop them in or out with my fingers, but they are tight enough to stay in without glue or anything else.Mo' BBs.Comment
