I see that a heavier 147gr XTP takes only 3-3.4 and a lighter 115 SPR GDHP takes 4.7-5.1. It seems counter intuitive, until you consider the bullet is determining how much volume is left in the shell and that effects the pressure. Right?

What's a good starting load & likely max for 231? Also, what should my OAL be?

I've got a couple older manuals, but neither of them list 231 in any 9mm loads. Hornady's reloading app also doesn't list 231 (or HP38) in the powders for their 124 XTP. Hodgdon says for the 124 Hornady HAP (similar to XTP) to start at 2.8 and max 3.3 (maybe because it's not intended to be a defensive round?).

advice is appreciated even if it's just a reference for where to find the info myself.

          OP asked.

Should I just buy a bullet puller and start over?
          Consensus is YES.

Which type of puller is personal preference. Depending on budget and time value. Collet pullers are much more expensive and require diff collets for each caliber. Whack-A-Moles are one size fits all. A bit slower. And a lot noisier.

I have both an RCBS collet puller and a "Whack-A-Mole". And I don't care if I make collet marks on short range pistol bullets. Even buy "pulls" with marks pre installed.

            Get one of these pullers:

Or shoot them out of an Uzi. I would off to shoot them out of mine but I sold it a few years ago.

Frankfort Arsenal pile driver OF CRAP.

$60 PLUS SHIPPING. For a tool that screws to your wall. Makes hellacious noise. Fumbling with numerous parts during operation. Is markedly slower than either a Wack-A-Mole or collet puller.

And the capper is SUPPLY YOUR OWN STICK TO POKE OUT THE CASE WHEN DONE.

I used federal cases, Federal Match SP Primers, loaded withe 4.0 gr of IMR 700x and my OAL is set at 1.32. I looked up data but found nothing specific. The only data I could maybe give a shot is one used for 125 gr which range from 2.9-3.6 gr of 700x. Unfortunately this is the only powder I have been able to get my hands on, which is why I'm strictly using 700x data.
Should I just buy a bullet puller and start over? Any help is greatly appreciated, Thank You

I have collet and kinetic pullers, kinetic for onsie-twosie and collet for when I have to pull a lot.

unfortunately, I don't think there is a 9mm gun that would handle your loads, so pull them. Last time I did that, was 45Colt, I charged the cases for a lighter bullet and put a heavier bullet in. I didn't want to pull 600 rounds, so I absolutely had to buy a Ruger Blackhawk that could handle the hot load

                          lol, good call

Years ago I bought some .327 in stead of .357. (Always wear your reading glasses when buying ammo)
It takes a lot of balls to play golf the way I do.
