Anyone have this happen? Set the die to touch the shell holder and my brass keeps dimpling just under the shoulder. I emailed RCBS and haven't heard back. This is a 6.8spc.

What lube are you using? When asked what qualities he most valued in his generals, Napoleon said, "give me lucky ones."Comment

Not the first run with these dies. I've made 100's of reloads with them. Possibly the lube. I used some cooking spray. Worked great for .223. Apparently not for 6.8. I'll clean up the dies and start over. Used to use one shot but just trying to cut costs.Comment

Imperial sizing wax is like$6 a tin and will do 4-6000 .223sigpic

Don't use too much case lube! I only lube every 2 to 3 cases. When j used too much case lube, it would crush the case shoulder. Doesn't sound like this is your problem but i actually had case lube stuck inside the die. I cleaned them very well and the crushed cases stopped. Hopefully cleaning the dies solved your problem!

When I did this I made female rounds for my 44 mag. I say they are female because they were RIBBED for her pleasure...
I had a seating/crimping die too tight and it pushed the brass down after crimping. The thing I had to do was back off the die and that stopped doing it. What caused it? I had SET my die according to some SHORT brass and then when some longer brass came through it REALLY got jacked... Oh well, it was hella easy to pick up in the snow though what with them finger grooves on the shells.

Either that or TOO MUCH LUBE. (from what I heard.) Try some imperial sizing wax or some dillon or something and make sure your die can bleed off the excess. But in all reality, I think that problem was from a bump in the shoulder, but below the shoulder would tell this expert noob who has been reloading ONLY straightwalled pistol stuff for about 10 months (I only have 10 fingers, sorry) that the die is pressing down too far on brass so if the die were RELIEVED a bit that might solve the situation.Last edited by stilly; 03-07-2013, 9:52 AM.7 Billion people on the planet. Need GOOD SS pins to clean your brass? Try the new and improved model...

And remember- 99.9% of the lawyers ruin it for the other .1%...Comment

Imperial Wax will do ya good. I had a stuck casing in a die that I managed to get out.
Now, I ALWAYS use Imperial. Not even Hornady's stuff will do for me.sigpic"Be more concerned with your character than your reputation, because your character is what you really are, while your reputation is merely what others think you are."
