Did you ever have one of those days where just about everything goes right with your shooting?
At lunchtime, I went to the range to test out some Red Dot loads in 45 ACP. I started with the standard loads of 5.0g Unique and was putting just about all the rounds in my 1-1/2" bullseye at 13 yards. Went over to the Red Dot loads and was still "shooting out the circle" with those loads. The loads felt almost identical but I was mostly pleased with my shooting. Finished off another 100 rounds then went over to the M&P40.
100 rounds later I was still keeping most of the rounds in the 1-1/2" circle and all of them inside the 3" circle. Boy was I happy. 250 rounds expended at a cost of about $15 in components. This was a very good outing.
I have had days where I would only get a couple shots in the bullseye per mag and the rest of the target looked like a buckshot pattern at 50 yards.
On those days I feel down and say "I don't think I could hit water if I fell out of a boat"
Then I stopped at the LGS to see if they are getting any better with ammo or components:

I don't like to "whistle while walking by the cemetery", but I am sure glad I took up reloading several years ago when I started shooting again. I did it to be able to afford the practice, now I'm thankful just to be able to shoot at all.
I then spent a couple of hours replenishing my supply of loaded ammo and hardly made a dent in my supply of powder, primers and cast bullets.
All in all, a very nice day. Here's hoping you have had and will have days like this too.
