Lyman 49th is a good one. Lee Second Edition is another good one. The Lee will have the most load data.

I have the Lyman 49th I've been learning from. Placing the order for my xl650 as soon as funds are available. I'm sure ill buy a few more books to learn as much as possible but this one seems really good.

I use both Lyman's 49th and Lee 2nd Edition. Between these two books, I can make any load I want.

              Lyman 49
They are not pushing any particular brand of bullet or powder, IMO they are pretty objective.
It also has the best data for cast bullets.

Lyman #49 is my choice. I get tired of lee running down others stuff just to try and prop up his lower quality stuff. The data is OK in the lee book.
If you plan to load Barnes get their book as the data is different for the barnes bullets.
If you know that you plan to load a certain brand of bullets it is good to get that book also.

I've got the Lyman 49th but I must say that it is missing a lot of the powders I am stockpiling so I will have to look elsewhere for recipes. Good general information book though.

My powders that are not listed are Winchester WST, IMR SR7625 and even Unique in some cases where I would like to use it.

Lyman and Lee are good starting points, but like so many things in this sport we love. You can NEVER have to many reloading manuals, I just counted mine, 14.
Since no one else mentioned the follow, thought I would:
Take a look at Wolf Publishing's "Pet Loads", at bit dated now as it hasn't been updated in 10+ years and quite abit of the load workups are from the 60's & 70's, but like Lyman and Lee a ton of good information, with lots of comments on specific loads. I still use it either as a place to start or a back check on other information.
The other place to look is again Wolf Publishing, they have a fee based section of their website called "LoadData", it's almost like a clearing house of loads from bullet and powder manufacturers for each caliberr, think it cost around $30.00 per year. For example they have 43 different sections just on 40S&W pistol round. If you are shooting lots of different calibers and experimenting a lot, no better place to come up with load information in one place.
Wolf is also the publisher of the only magazine dedicated to reloading - Handloader.

After you get a couple of paper books try the bullet and powder manufacturers web sites

And, while you are waiting for your books to come in, check out YouTube. Very good information on there and, on your specific machine. Tips, Tricks and just tons of good information.

Lyman, Speer (RCBS) or Lee manuals are all good. ABC'S Of Reloading would be something to have also.
