I use a digital on AC plugged into a small voltage stabilizer. 505 as a back-up.

I use an RCBS 1010. I have tried a number of digital scales, including a pretty expensive one, all with the same result, trash can.

I do use check weights just tone sure, but it is always spot on.

I broke the beam on a previous one and RCBS sent me a whole new scale, talk about great CS!

        +1 on determinator.
It does calibrate, but sometimes only holds for for two dumps. When I check powder weights while loading I second guess the accuracy of the scale and weigh the loads over and over. Figure it's time to get a scale I trust.

I use the Lee safety scale. It's slow, and a little tricky to use if you don't have experience with vernier indicators, but it's accurate.

My RCBS 5-0-5 scale has worked for me for years. Whenever I use an electronic scale, I also use the mechanical scale as a checkpoint for accuracy. With electronic scales, it's also a good idea to calibrate every time you use it.

Most people do not realize that electronic balances will fluctuate due to power fluctuations. Use a battery or a quality surge protector. Also, florecent lighting, cel phones. Magnets. Speakers, etc. will all affect how an electronic balance reads. That said, I use a Dillion but, any quality analog balance will do.

Hi Faded, I use an old Ohaus 505 beam scale that I bought new in 1973.

Maybe it's time to buy another scale, but it still works perfectly. I see on Ebay

that some of these same scales are still available. I like my scale because

the pointer placard shows six .10 gr increments above and below the zero

mark. There is plenty of space within each increment to be able to discern

at least four positions; giving .025 gr estimates. I think the Redding powder scale

has this same feature. Here is a link to an Ohaus 505 powder scale on Ebay.

Carefuly check the first photo in magnified mode so you can see what I'm talking about

I have a lyman M5. The plastic lyman funnel pan+us nickel+a little epoxy= the stock brass pan.

For quick pistol loads/sorting chores I use a frankford arsenal ds-750 digital I got from midway or $15 it reads +.1 grain off the lyman just a little too slow to trickle a charge on.

Ditto on the DIY check weights off the calibrated work scale. Ours is only good to .0001 gram though
