    Subsonic 7.62x54r ammo?

Hey guys. I am not (currently) a reloader. I have none of the equipment or knowledge, although some day I hope to acquire both.

Having said that, any suggestions on where to find subsonic 7.62x54r ready to rock loads, if such a thing even exists?

    Thanks in advance.

Good luck, that round travels at like 3000 fps. You may be able to load something that goes about 1000 fps but just a guess tells me it will be well below minimum load.

You planning on suppressing a mosin?

Just make sure the bullet actually leaves the bore when you are initially testing.

Yes, its called a chamber insert. To 762x25 tok or 32 acp. You do not need to load but you could. I like the 32acp with factory loads. It sounds like a magnum air rifle and is easy to get the fire case out of the insert.

...Think my Speer manual has some reduced loads for the .30 family of rifles using 4759 powder. Which would use your 762x54 cases and lead bullets.

I've read of some people using trail boss to make sub sonic 54r loads. I don't know about the specific details though.

              this sounds interesting......
If you suck with irons you will suck with optics. The difference is the aimpoint will allow you to suck faster and a scope will give you a closer look at how much you suck.

                  You assume far too much.

Thanks for the info guys. The chamber insert looks like it would be fun to play with. Thanks for the tip.

I use the chamber insert with .32 long and .32 magnum. I have a great time plinking my little steel 22 targets with them. These calibers are very easy and cheap to reload too

I also make full size cartridge/ reduced loads with pistol powders and a 110gr .32 bullet

Usually use Unique. 10-13 grs makes a nice plinking load
