    Winchester 9mm PDX1 Defective?

I just picked up 2 box's if Winchester PDX1 9mm 124gr+P ammo at Waliworld yesterday (Lot#12FN81) and all the cartridge cases are bulged to one side, some worse then others!!!!

It is like when you are reloading and the bullet is seated way off center!!!

You can see the and feel the defect. Also the bullets seem kind of dulled and scratched up. I intent to get in touch with Winchester.

My camera crapped out so I will post pictures tomorrow.

Folks inspect you PD rounds and let me know if you think this is a bad lot as well......

At a $1.20 a round I'm not going to settle for 1/2 A** ammo or bet my life on it!!!

Nope, The box is in pristine condition.

      Untouched.

All the rounds have a different degree of bulge.

PDX1 bullets are not pretty. They have bonded jackets which involves oven curing of the glue. I think the bulge is a QC issue with the brass being thinner on one side than the other (common) but it won't affect the performance.

Is that just on one side?

I think that just might be the crimp, but if you're worried about it, call Winchester Customer Service. I had a set back issue on some white box, and they took care of it.

No, that is not the crimp. The crimp is found at the case mouth, not at the base of the bullet. What this is crooked bullet seating coupled with uneven case wall thickness.

Could it be that Winchester sells LEO contract rejects to the public? I dunno. I have some .40's that are severely overcrimped, as if they were revolver rounds.

I think this ammo shortage and 24/7 production is wearing people down and causing QC issues.
