    Anyone Make Hot Glue Bullets?

Just curious. I saw some vids about using a bullet mold to "cast" bullets out of hot glue. Propelled by primer only, like a gallery round.

I was intrigued, so today I snatched the wife's glue gun and made a bunch of .38 SPL SWC bullets...out of glue...strange?

Remember, it can be considered disarming a firearm in city limits if the case applies to you and you care.

Most of the large glue sticks are already the size of 45acp. So all you have to do is chop them into pieces and load away.

They do shoot fast out of a barrel with just the primer so be careful.

I am not within any city limits and live where "the discharge of a firearm is not otherwise prohibited", but thanks for the heads up.

I do shoot .22 Colibri in my back yard with a suitable backstop. I assume a .38 "glue job" out of a revolver will be substantially louder.

          Those 22 Colibri's are awesome aren't they?
Through my 10/22 they are completely silent. A BB gun is louder. But my neighbor did get a squib in a Marlin rifle with one.

I tried shooting some in a Neos and it was very loud.

Did you "cast" these 38spl bullets with a mold, or did you find glue sticks that were the right diameter?

I used to have some .38 plastic bullets with plastic cases that were primer charged. Easy to press out old primers and press in new ones by hand. Was a lot of fun indoors. Don't know what happen to those or if they are even legal anymore. Not sure why they wouldn't be, but then I don't understand why most of CA laws exist.

I used a Lee 358 105 SWC mold. Single cavity, so it took a while. I was first using a small glue gun, but it had a hard time pushing enough volume to fill the mold quickly. I switched to a larger unit that will fill the mold with two pulls of the trigger.

Lubed the mold every several "bullets" with a Q-tip dipped in olive oil to reduce sticking (after all, it is glue, LOL).

A pic of some while I was getting the hang of it.

                          Yup, fun.
Unlike casting lead, a bit of oil based spray like Pam works well to release the bullets. Also helps to lube up the bullets before you load them. Garage is OK, but don't shoot too many in there, the smoke is lead styphnate which will add to the possibility of lead poisoning.
The one on the far right was shot a half dozen times into a cardboard box with a towel inside to trap the bullet.

LoL. Put a gas check on them and that new Lee alox lube and see how fast you can get them to go.

Will magnum primers make them go faster?
