7.62x54R Reloading Question

Fingers crossed. I did just put in a backorder through Brownells for 5000 small rifle primers and 5000 Large rifle primers. Enough of everything else (except 54R) to load and shoot for the next six months. A year if I get some of the backordered primmers.

Most Lapua brass is about $1 a pop per brass even pre-election.
Not sure why this was such a great deal but I took it. -g

It was/is cheaper to buy modern brass rounds and save the brass for reloading. That is how I got all my brass 7.62x54r. Much cheaper than buying Lapua brass by itself.

I have been reloading for the 7.62x45R for my 91/59 and a SAKO M-39. I discovered early on, reloading for other Mosins, that flat based bullets offer the most consistent accuracy. If your rifle of carbine has muzzle wear or damage boat-tail bullets will generally not shoot well. I have had great accuracy using Varget or IMR 4350 with both Speed and Hornady 150gr .311/.312 bullets. Like the 303 British you can extend case like by neck sizing your brass for a given rifle.
