    Components in stock...

Well I thought we could keep a thread going of the latest in stock components either local or online.

I'll start, nothing all sold out. I call all the local places almost daily and nothing.

    Anyone else?

It depends on what you're ordering and who you're ordering from. For example, I use Starline Brass whenever possible. It's never in stock, so you order and wait until they have enough demand to change the line to another caliber. So while it's never been "in stock", I've never had to wait much more than 3 to 4 weeks, and less if the caliber you want is popular.

Right now it's difficult to justify a hazmat charge if you can't get all the powders you want. Lately, it's just easier to try and find others to split up a big load of the currently -in-stock powder.

I agree about Starline. I have 10MM (1000 cases) coming; they charged the card yesterday which hopefully indicates a future shipment is coming my way. I have to say they are a great company to deal with.

I can find powder in a couple of Gun Stores. Primers if you look hard and pay $43 bucks for 1000. (I don't need primers however)

What I would like to find is some berry type 155 grain bullets locally. They are out everywhere.

I did find some Nosler 135 grain hollow points (.40 caliber) and bought one 250 Box from MidwayUSA...(on the way)

            Things will change in time.

They can be a hit and miss but are local for me.I have usually had good luck finding primers there a lil on the high side but considering online order and haz mat its fair to me for smaller purchases.I know during frenzys they limited the primers to 500.

Its been about the only place i have bought my components form the last 3-4 years. As far as primer and powder goes.

The COOLEST primers I have ever used were from Wolf and they were COPPER colored. SWEET primers. I still have about 900 of them but they are really cool looking to put into brass shells. Reminds me of that rose gold jewelry you can buy. I have only seen them at Wideners.

I was surprised to see Midway Selling .45 Colt starline brass, and that the starline brass was cheaper than any other brass they sold (and were all sold out of anyway). .45 Colt is one of those calibers where you almost never find brass for it at a range. In fact, years of brass scrounging have only netted me TWO .45 colt cases! Why? It's only popular in cowboy guns and it shoots in revolvers so the brass is easily kept by the shooter. Since .45 colt is so danged expensive, most .45 colt shooters reload.

The brass wasn't cheap, but it will last with powder pull cowboy loads.

Other components I found and I'M NOT SURE I DIDN'T GET RIPPED OFF, was I found 168gn Sierra Match King .308 bullets at Powder Valley, I bought some Noslers in the same weight/caliber as well. I bought them because I have a new (to me) .308 Rem 700 SPS Varmint and a new (to me) M1 Garand and ... NO AMMO for them! Yes, I Walmart has hunting ammo for them, but for the price, it would be cheaper to buy match bullets and reload them. I'm pretty sure I got ripped off, but whatever, I have no ammo for those guns and those will be match rifles anyway.

As for other components, I have to say certain primers (Federal!) have been out of stock FOR YEARS. Mostly because competitive shooters buy up all the Federal stuff (so the light hammer springs can ignite them).
