Walnut lizard bedding from the pet store. Works great and does not get stuck in the flash holes.

I have used walnut shell for years. I didn't like the high prices, So I called someone. $520.00 per TON (2,000 pounds).
Comes to about $0.26 per pound.

I use walnut shell "lizard bedding" from Petco.

            Cheap, works great.

I don't like adding polish to the media, as occasionally it will gunk up at the bottom of a cartridge.

I'm extremely allergic to walnut so corn cob is my only choice. Anyone tried the green Lyman corn cob? Is plain corn cob with nu finish better?

I bought the 24 grit walnut from harbor freight, put in a little bit of maguyars cleaning wax and a dryer sheet, looks good so far

I use the Lyman pre treated corn cob for my tumbling use. Toss in a quarter dryer sheet for dust collection. My brass comes out clean and polished to my liking. There may be ways to get it cleaner or more polished...but I have no need.

I get a large bag 50#s of walnut hull at the local feed store for around $15.00 or so. I get corn cob at Graingers. Walnut hull for the first go around, than corn cob & Nu-Finish.

I use coarse walnut with a little Nufinish and it cleans and shines just fine with about 4 hours of tumble time… I don’t think I’ll be changing anytime soon.
