Getting into reloading, need help on 7.62x25 tokarev

Ive been doing a lot of research on reloading and decided that I am going to get into reloading. I just bought a couple of books and am going to read them first before buying my equipment. I am looking to reload for my Tokarev handgun. I havent found any available brass for it. I have read some things on converting .223 brass and .38 special brass to the 7.62x25 but I am not sure on the process or whether it's safe to do so. I have found the Lee Dye's for it. I would like some experienced advice before I dive into something like that. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

You're going to need a case neck reamer for the .223 converted brass. Upon reforming the neck will be too thick for it to chamber and needs to be reduced.

Loading 762x25 is a little tricky due to the small amount of neck. The Lee Dies sometimes want to seat the bullet crooked

In other news though, I have seen Sellior and Belliot 7.62x25 brass rounds at my local gun stores Bullseye and Turners, EVEN Centerfire -Yes, all three of them in corona/riverside had the stuff. You can also find it on Gunbroker.com.

If you actually make some boxer primed ammo, you'll need a brass catcher. A really good one, guns chambered in that like to flip the brass into the next county.

Starline makes them. You can get them directly or Midway. klewan is right on the brass catcher , mine eject at least 25 feet on CZ 52!

I just bought a Dillion 650 from a friend. It's never been used. I know nothing about reloading but couldn't pass it up for $500.00. The only ad on it doesn't have is the primer check. Dies for 45 Colt, 9mm and 380. Now, is there anyone out there in the Los Banos area that can help get me started? I'm sure I can figure it out at some point but I'd like to learn from someone with experience. We shoot fast draw, wax bullets, and have a 6 target range in my back yard. I'll trade fast draw time for loading time!

YES YES YES YES!

Mine fly back about 30 feet to my 5 o'clock. BUT they fly back and shells group better then the shot placement.

If you cant find any brass get 7.63mm Mauser brass.Despite what you may read THEY ARE THE SAME CASE.All german ww2 manuals say you can shoot 7.63 mauser pistol in a Tk-33.I once owned a Broomhandle but was a fool to sell it,However i still have bullets, brass and dies for the 7.63 mauser.Am planning to buy a TK-33 when i can afford one.
