When do you think it'll get better?

Like many I'm going to get started reloading. I did some loading 25 years ago but gave it up because I just wasn't shooting that much. I already bought most of the equipment I'll need a year ago and am just now getting around to it. Well, it seems my timing sucks! I can't find much online and the last gun show we had they didn't have ANY reloading stuff. Going to check a place or two when I go to town Thursday .. Anyway, the question is for you that have been loading awhile, when do you think powder and primers will show up?

If I remember correctly, it was about two years since prices and availability returned.

Last "BIG SCARE OF '08" stuff returned to reasonable prices pretty quickly. It seems a lot of people shoot a lot less than they thought...lol

It took a while but then again i already had quite a a bit of components to keep me going since i dont shoot as much as i use to.I remember in 09 i wanted to get stuff and most places were low on supplies i did find primers but had a hard time finding my normal powders i had to use alternates and start data all over on my current loads.

I also had a back order at powder valley that was never filled i think after a years wait i just said screw it it aint coming and never did.I just went last week nad found my normal powder in stock got 2 more pounds and last month they had 1 left but primers were plenty.The turners up the street was out of rifle though but they had pistol i needed.

My gues will probably be another year i am sure the hoarders hit the stores again while they are still sitting on primer and powders from the last rush.

Reasonable?Last big purchase i made about 06 i was paying 18 bucks per 1k primers locally and bullets were about 40 per 1k of .223 and .45 was about 35 per 500.powders were about the only thing that didnt really jump in price only a couple bucks

Back in the "good old days" when I was loading you could walk in the store and get pretty much whatever you wanted or they'd order it for you and it would only take a few days. I remember buying components at gun shows and the primers being cheap and plentiful .. ahhh, nostalgia lol.
I'd love to find all the stuff I want at one place and only pay one hazmat but looks like I will be piece mealing at LGS a little at a time and paying the price.

Blame the internet... The internet has made buying supplies a lot easier from all kinds of folks all over the world/country. As a result you are kind of competing with the rest of the world/country instead of the rest of your town... I just fired off an order for 11k primers and 2 lbs of powder from behind my keyboard a few days ago. But I also walked into Bullseye and bought two bottles of H110 and w231. I just wish they carried bullets already...
