Found this in my brass today well several of these this one happens to be made from a 5.56 round but the others look factory made with odd head stamps with stars and things

30 Luger, or maybe 30 Mauser, 7.62 Tokarev, also maybe 300BLK? Hard to tell without dimensions. Can you measure the case length and mouth dimension?

No brass as in my range collection I collect and sort it. It's about 1" long give or take looks like a 30 cal bullet. I think it is a tok round

Since I reformed 100 pieces of 223 into 7.62 Tok last night my vote is....7,62 Tok. The shoulder area looks abit different though.

Is there any surplus 7.62 x 25 left? I wanted to get a CZ 52 but if I can't feed it cheaply I might as well buy a .357 sig.

The 30 Mauser is closer to 1", the 7.62 Tokarev is a little shorter (like .030-.040"). I would guess it is the latter as well, probably more common.

I found a case that looks just like(a little longer maybe) it yesterday at the range,and it had a split in the side as well.It was marked 300 Whisper.I wonder how much of the case neck squeeked its way down the barrel when the guy was shooting it.

congrats on a 1000 post

they aren't hard to find, just not supper common. The most common pistol I can think of that shoots it is the Tokarev. It is a Russian designed pistol that has been duplicated buy many countries includeing Poland and China. They have recently (last 10 years) been imported to the US in increasing numbers. Imported surplus ammo can be found for pretty cheap at $15ish a box.
