New to reloading , Equipment help

Hi, I have an AR-15 and shooting it has become expensive, about $9 for a box of 20 cheap range load... I am looking into reloading and if I invest into it I want to have equipment that I do not have to replace with better equipment later on. I am watched some videos and saw a Lee classic 4 hole turret press, Is there a good kit that includes this ? Will a good lee kit, a manual and supplies (primer, cases, bullet, powder) be all i have to buy? Any reloading advice is much appreciated!! Thank-you

I love my 4 hole turret, only reason you might upgrade in future is to do the process quicker, being you're clicking off a lot of .223. But then again brass prep is the most time spent anyways.
A kit should come with deburring tools.

What you need to buy are dies for .223, and a crimp die most likely. Maybe a powder thru die depending on your kit as well or if you're using a auto disc measure.
Also a case trimmer for .223.
Plus, you will need either a tumbler and media or a sonic cleaner in order to reuse brass.
Some brass lube too, for sizing.
Ammo boxes for separating the processed ammo/brass.

Digital grain scale saves some time as well.

      And lots of free time.

Keep an eye on Denver Ducks WTS thread, he gets all kinds of cool stuf at great prices and a heck of a guy in person.

I had the same mentality as you, not wanting to replace down the road. I went with a Dillon 650..... I highly recommend it!

This Lee Turret Kit is all you need to get started and will take care of your needs unless you shoot/reload thousands of rounds a week. Then I'd say the Hornady LNL AP is the way to go. Here's a complete kit, just add dies and you're ready to go. Other items needed are listed as well.

Add this tumber for your brass: http://www.fmreloading.com/Merchant2...se+Preparation Crushed walnut media can be found at your local pet store, get the smallest particle size possible.

Add this disk kit for rifle if you need it: http://www.fmreloading.com/Merchant2...Category_Code=

Add your 223 dies of preference

Add this scale for ease of use: http://www.amazon.com/American-Weigh...emini+20+scale

Add a digital caliper from Harbor Freight ($10-$12) or a dial caliper from ebay for under $20 and you should be all set and ready to go.

Add another load reference like this one: http://www.midwayusa.com/product/360...loading-manual

Reloading doesn't save you money. It allows you to shoot more.

I haven't saved a dime rolling my own but I have had the opportunity to shoot tens of thousands of rounds a year.

The fate of the wounded rest in the hands of the ones who apply the first dressing.

                This!

I highly suggest the Lee Classic Turret as a first press kit:

                Plus:

                Makes it about $190.

I like lee dies for basic reloading, but the hornady dies are starting to grow on me.

You can clean your brass several ways: tumbler, ultrasonic cleaner, stainless media etc.

Good Luck! It is a whole new addiction ...

fm is good. best prices on lee. FS would be good if their shipping was better. if you are buying like 1 or 2 things, fs is probably cheaper.

will i need a case trimmer , or is it included in this kit? http://www.fmreloading.com/Merchant2...essive+Presses

Is a case trimmer even necessary for 223 range ammo? - it is not for match grade ammo, just high volume range ammo

You will need a trimmer. If you are loading for an AR, you might want to consider a CTS or Possum Hollow power trimmer.
