that still sounds a bit expensive, Bulls Eye Mrfg. who only goes to the glendale gun show, sells 1k of 223 reloads for $230. last glendale gun show i bought 2k of his stuff, and my friend bought 1k, both my friend and i never had any issues with his reloads.

We are planning on being there. We just bought 1000rounds from them at about that price, but it is the shipping that kills you.

I would definately be in for another 1000 if you can get a deal.

I would like to source (and if price is right, buy) some 6.8 SPC for future build, some 5.56/.223 AND the 7.62mm I mentioned in the other thread.

If you get an answer from them with good prices, let me know. I won't be there in time for it, but if someone were going there and wouldn't mind picking up some for me too, I'd paypal you, or pay you when I pick it up, depending.

I don`t dig your math...if you use range pickups for your reloads..

let`s see:

Bullet = 9 c
primer= 2.5 c
Your average powder = $160 per 8lb jug incl shipping + hazmat
There are 56000 grains in 8lbs, with an average charge of 24 gr that makes 2333.33 powder charges. 56000 grains divided by 2333.33 makes 6.85 c per charge

9 + 2.5 + 6.85 = 18.35 c...did I miss something?

I calculated this for a batch of 500... which actually inflates the price. If I did it for a batch of 1000 it would only be 21 cents per round.

Per round cost for bullets=.088
Per round cost for powder=.052 (23.5 g of Ramshot Tac)
Per round cost for brass=0
Per round cost for primers=.027

so .....

Shipping and hazmat=$40.00

8lbs of Ramshot Tac costs me 123.00 from midway.
500 55gr bullets for 43.99
$2.89 per 100 primers (1000 total)

I use the reloading calculator that someone posted on glocktalk.

I'm starting to reload 223 but I still need more components.
