If the loads were both made on the same 1050, they probably purchased them from a reloader (who isn't a very good reloader).

No one of the owners of one of the AR's shown loaded them. They take turns loading for each other. They went in together and bought a 1050.

Last night I had pulled a bunch of reload .308 that I bought. I liked the brass, but the rounds where all over the place when I shot them, so I pulled them. Looking at the powder from the pulled rounds I thought it looked like BL-C(2), so I got some out of the cabinet to compare. It wasn't BL-C(2), but it was close. I stupidly left the bottle of BL-C(2) on the bench.

Later, after I had finished reloading the rounds with IMR 4064 and some new Amax's, after I wasd finished, I unhooked the hopper from my powder drop and poured it back into the bottle, except... just as I was screwing the top back on realized I had poured the IMR 4064 into the BL-C(2) bottle! Crap. $20 mistake, no big deal we are all human.

Which is the real reason I posted this. Just a friendly reminder that even competition shooters that load on a $2000 machine can make mistakes.

The thread on glocktalk was way worse than this one. A bunch of smart remarks on how this could never happen to them and all the things they do to make sure.

I think we've all made a few mistakes here and there...like accidentaly mixing two rifle powders, etc. Granted, that stuff will probably happen at some point, but we're supposed to avoid careless mistakes and catch them before they turn catastrophic. But the bottom line is that these mistakes usually happen due to carelessness and/or failing to fully pay attention to what one is doing.

I once accidently dumped some Universal Clays into a bottle of regular Clays that was about 1/4 full and didn't realize it until I was done dumping the powder. Stupid mistake on my part, but luckily I caught it and didn't make an example out of myself. I could have very easily won a stupid prize.

It's not necessarily about being dumb. It's about making dumb mistakes. Yep, we are all guilty of them at some point.

But one mistake we can all avoid is shooting someone else's reloads. That's a simple one.

People who don't make fun have probably learned their lesson one way or another.

I learned about "one powder on the bench at a time" with a similar mistake to Bill Steele's, but I only had to pour out a small hopper full of powder. Not a whole lot but I'm "frugal" and it hurt.

It's my unscientific opinion that a lot of the kabooms we hear about are wrong powder errors.

I've spent alot of time(and money) on destroyed gunparts from apex.

I learned about "one powder on the bench at a time" with a similar mistake to Bill Steele's, but I only had to pour out a small hopper full of powder. Not a whole lot but I'm "frugal" and it hurt.

I once made a custom blend of IMR4064 and H4831SC. Cost me a 1lb container. I never have more than one container on the bench at a time now.

It was a straight up error (stupid but honest) to put any pistol powder in a rifle case. 25 grains of Bullseye would certainly do it. I run a Dillon 550 for rifle and a Dillon Square Deal for pistol, no powder mixups.
