Quick Question About Primer for AR platform

for those using CCI 200 type ( none Mil-Spec or Magnum ) on a AR platform , any issues ?

I load CCI 400 for ar15 and no problem what so ever . just wanted to double check i guess before I make an order .

I think many use a primer with a thicker cup to help avoid slam fires.

I use CCI 450. Thick cup.

Just use proper load development and you should be fine.

Yeah I've loaded about 2ksomething rounds with CCI reg primers in my 308 AR's no problems whatsoever. I also use them in my garand.

The primer 'issue' is way overblown.

I use CCI #200 but not for AR platform rifles. I've never had an issue with them or Winchester LRPs.

The .308 has a captured firring pin, the 5.56 does not. I can not use winchester primers in one of my ARs because of the constant slam fires

I use CCI 400 primers and I've never had a slam fire.

I stopped using Winchester SR primers a long time ago because of pierced primers (average 1 per 50 rounds).

I've only had one slam fire in the AR and that was with Remington 7-1/2.

I prefer CCI BR4 or Russian magnum primers. I have no problem with Rem 7-1/2. I'd still use them if they were still cheap. At current prices, may as well use Russian primers (Wolf or Tula).

Agreed. I used Federal and Winchester primers for my Ar-15 and for my Saiga 223 with no issues whatsoever.

If you don't get slam fires with an AK ... you aren't going to get them.

About 2200 reloaded with standard CCI #400 (1600ea) primers, and Federal #205 (I think it was, about 600ea) and not a slam fire yet, and letting the bolt slam home cambering a round...
