Props to Lee Precision - UPDATE

I started with Lee when I began reloading and have never regretted my choice. Great product for the price and fits my reloading needs. Without question, I'd say I'm a Lee reloading fan and most of the gear on my bench is Lee red.

So yesterday I spent time off and on cleaning and prepping rifle brass (308 and 223). I have a 4-Hole turret (LCT) and it holds full length resizing dies for multiple calibers as well as an RCBS swaging die. Decapped, resized all brass and swaged the 223 range pickup that had crimps.

Went to remove my turret and was unable to do so. For those familiar with a LCT, that should have been as easy as a slight rotation and lift...like cutting butter with a warm knife...no effort at all and quick. Nope, wasn't budging. Tried rotating it and it felt like it was locked it. So after about 10 minutes of trying to rotate it out, it finally came out (see the reason it was "locked" in on the pic - casting cracked and separated just enough to change dimensions and make it challenging to remove).

Being Sunday night, I jumped on Lee's site and discovered they had a warranty web form to fill out. Wrote what happened and attached the same pic here.

At 6:19 am this morning, I received an email from the support center thanking me for the pic and informing me they will send out a replacement. Not a form letter, but written/signed by a person (based on the specific wording to my situation). Nice touch.

At 6:58 am this morning I received another email containing my receipt, shipping information and tracking number. That is what I call outstanding customer support.

This is exactly why I continue to buy Lee products wherever possible and have been and continue to be a satisfied customer.

    ******** UPDATE ********
My replacement turret was in today's mail. So, with no mail deliveries yesterday due to the holiday, Lee made things very right in a total of 3 business days. Outstanding customer service as far as I'm concerned.

Same here, went with a Lee Loadmaster and have shot over 1k reloads with no major issues.

All in all, great value purchase.

I'm curious about the RCBS swaging die. I've seen the youtube vids about using a copper pipe coupler on the LCT to make the swager work. Did you do this, or do you have another method that allows it to work on the Lee ram?

Same here. I went with Lee on my single stage. I haven't regretted it at all. I had an issue with the primer arm that looked like the cup was bent. I shot them an e mail and i had a new on in 3 days.
My progressive is the Hornady. I had some issues with it when I first got it and Hornady did a great job sorting them all out and getting me the parts quick. I would endorse them both.

When I first got into 223 I knew I'd have to swage so I looked around and found the video on YT. If I recall the quality wasn't great, but the idea was. I had to modify his design based on how the ram in my LCT sits compared to his. Basically same idea with the copper pipe, but mine is a base that cover the primer swager instead of sitting below the swager.

Went to my local Lowes and they have copper piping (pieces in the plumbing isle) already cut to size that looked like they would be the right height. Diameter was 1.25" if I recall. I went down the screw/nail isle and found a washer the exact same diameter with a hole the size of the large primer swage. Used my Dremel to cut/polish the 1/2 circle cut to seat the pipe cleanly over the primer "lips". Then gel super glue to bond the washer to the pipe (roughed up the copper a bit so the bond would be better/stronger). Works great, but not the most elegant looking hack. Great way to leverage the LCT and all you have to do is remove the indexing collar when you want to use the swager.

Looking at that pic and the way it fractured what do you think caused it ?
I'm in the prosses of setting my Lee progressive up now to load only 9mm and 45acp and and im wondering if your setups for rifle is makeing more stress on the turret tham pistol loading.

Straight walled pistol brass does not introduce the "stress" that full length resizing does for 223/308/30-06 rifle brass (at least with me doing it) and then add swaging to that 4-hole turret and you're seeing quite a bit of heavy duty usage on that one (thousands of rounds). I also have this press mounted high, so I can do all of this work standing (best leverage), so that adds even more...stress...to the turret.

I would not worry at all about 9mm or 45 ACP and the turret.

I have been thinking about getting a Lee progressive for my pistol reloads and this just sold me on the idea. It will make a nice combo with my Lee Single stage.

They sent me a new universal decapper pin when I broke mine asap. I didnt even have to send them a pic. I called them, told them what happen, gave them the part number/description and my mailing address. I got the email shipping confirmation that day and rec'd the replacement part in the mail a couple of days later. Lee prec is a great company.

Sorry to say I never had good service from lee. They demanded sales reciepts which I never keep and sending back products which would cost as much as just buying a new one and such. I have always had great service when needed from RCBS, Hornady, Lyman and Dillon without the hoops to jump thru. That is why I use their stuff and no longer most lee products. If it is a lee product I just figure it as a thow-away if broken so I only have items like the GI primer punch/base kit and their hand primer. I have 2 hand primers which are worn out but they are cheap so I just replace them as needed.

I'm glad they took care of you, but I also think you have to realize the part broke due to the fact Lee's are inherintly weaker than RCBS, Dillon, and Hornandy equivilants, and of course they are also half the price...so its a cost versus quality and durability decision, but if they give you new stuff for free than you made the right choice.
