IMR XBR 8202 is a very clean powder

Put 200 rounds through the M1A today and pulled the gas plug to see how the new loads are working out. This powder burns very clean.

Good to know. My 8lb keg is still unopened. What load and component did you use?

Take a look at this http://m14forum.com/ammunition/11619...r-308-max.html

These guys are experts in the M14/M1A and they say use caution with 8208. Its pressure spikes really fast on small changes in your powder drops. I do agree it is clean but I stick to 3031 or 4895 because I don't want to get that close to the threshold.

Thanks for the heads up. It's a wicked fast powder, unfortunately the longest thing I reload for is 18" making this powder a solid choice. May switch over to CFE 223 if someone can chime in on it's temperature stability.
