Actually, check Gander Mountain for the dies. Last I looked they were 39.99 and free shipping for the Lee deluxe pistol 4-die sets.
Do you really need a 4-die set? Aren't there dies that crimp and seat the bullet at the same time? Wouldn't this make it a 3-die set?

with 45 for many bullets I do find seating and crimping at the same time is fine but for others especially hollow points or when I like to do a heavier crimp it helps to seat and crimp separately so the nose of the bullet doesn't get crushed.
I will share my opinion and my load data, BUT I am just a guy with too many cigars and too many guns. Whatever I say is probably wrong.

I was originally going to order from Gander Mountain but they dont have the lee classic turret press. only the classic press.

Grafs price is a little higher but that's where i will end up going if i cancel this order i have in now.

I cancelled my order with Fm reloading well some of it. they had a few targets/lil crap i wanted to so took the press and riser off the order he said he can ship today. then i ordered those too from grafs, hopefully they ship today also. overall it cost me $10 but he wasn't expecting more presses till the end of next week and i'm tires of buying parts without the press in my hand.

grafs has free shipping with PX2012 code, but then they charge you 5.95 handling fee. that's weak.

I have to say this before someone else does... been awhile since I got to be the first fanboy on the scene GET A DILLON! Just kidding, do what works for you. I don't agree with starting with a single stage as a must. I did not and never had a problem, but having people to show you the ropes is always a +.

I learned and am still learning on my Dad's Dillon RL450. I used as a single stage press for the first few months and am just starting to now use it as a progressive to it's capacity. The single stage helps in that your focusing on much less at a time. I would not be happy now with a single stage press, considering time is very valuable to me and my family, in fact I'm thinking about purchasing the 550 frame, so I can use the tool heads and reduce my set up time between calibers. Good luck in your decision.

Berry's plated 200gr SWC (easier to clean and less smoke, but more expensive).

+1 for the Lee Classic Turret Press. Hard to go wrong with one of those. Also would suggest Lee's Pro Auto-Disk Powder Measure for its remarkable consistency with most powders.

I would also suggest Lee's cheapie $30 "Lee Reloader Press" and a hand-primer for your first rounds. This way you'll really learn what you're doing, which can save your gun and/or your hand. Don't worry about "wasting money" on a single-stage, as it won't be a "waste" at all. The dies are interchangeable, and there's often a need for a single-stage press on the bench even when you're primarily using a turret or progressive. Any single-stage press will work (e. g. RCBS Rockchucker, Lee Challenger, Forster Co-Ax, Redding Big Boss, etc.), but going with the little "Reloader Press" will save you some money and get the job done.
