Lr shooter you interested in a group buy?

I like to support the local stores whenever I can. But when did powder start going for $30-$35 a pound. Went to Turners and Annies in Corona and was expecting around $25 a pound. Not to be found. Last time I bought powder (last summer) it ran $18-22 a pound- of course that was in Utah.

Looks like I'll order a bunch from Powder Valley or Wideners and be done with it.

Wow. I was at Discount Shooter in Roseville and it was $20 last Sunday. I'm gonna have to check locally and stock up.

4 years ago I went to a shop 30 mins away from me, i asked how much 1 lb of powder was, an employee told me 19$ so i took 2 to the counter, guy rang me up 54$, i said 54$?! your coworker told me they were 19$ each "ohh price went up" i said ok and walked out. thats why I buy online.

I just bought an 8 pounder from Phillips Wholesale in Covina for $160

I just got a pound of Clays for $22 about two hours ago at Bass Pro Shop in Manteca. The WSF was $24- $25 a pound.

FYI.....I'm friends with some high power rifle shooters as well as a bunch of handgun shooters. The high power folks order more powder from Powder Valley so I tend to ride their coat tails on orders. Seems like the handgun shooters order every two years or so.

I *know* they gotta make a profit locally, and it must be hard as hell to keep the doors open.

It's just so tough to resist online prices that are half the amount before hazard/shipping. It's not like it's free to drive to the store or anything.

Maybe if they weren't such jerkys locally I'd be more inclined to buy there.

Are there specific requirements for the cabinet? Single layer of drywall? Double layer?

Local Store here is charging $28-$32/lb for most powders. Primers and bullets are a bit high as well.

I believe in supporting local businesses, but there does come a point where it is difficult.

Guns fishing and other stuff wants $40-45/lb and one shop near me wants 30-35

Check the lable on your jar of Clays. You will see that its short of a pound at only 14oz. SURPRISE!!!!

Buying Reloading Supplies

It's like getting ROBBED! If you mail order you have high Hazmat fees. If you buy local you can't find any powder for less than $30.00 without driving so far to save a few bucks that you might as well have paid the $30. Bullets and primers are the same deal. If you find cheap bullets in one store they want to rob you on the powder and primers, if you find the powder they want to rob you on the primers and on it goes.

I went to a gun show thinking I could get reasonably priced primers, powder and bullets in one place - WRONG I found primers and nothing else that I wanted after paying $15 to see a bunch of crap sitting on tables.

What the gun store owner don't get is that if they have reasonably priced ammo and reloading supplies customers will shoot more, go back to the store more often and get hooked on buying a new gun more often. As it stands nobody has my loyalty and I'll walk if you charge a buck more than I want to pay because you haven't earned my business.
