Titegroup and 45 auto?

Have lots of titegroup! Just wondering if anyone uses titegroup for 45 auto?

Titegroup is awesome for 45acp. what kind of bullet are you using? I load 4.5gr of TG behind a 230gr Berry's RN at 1.250" with a 0.470" crimp.

I have loaded from 4.0 to 4.6 under a 230gr extreme and really like 4.0gr. My buddy likes lots of kick and prefers 5.0gr.

Lots of guys like Titegroup in many calibers inluding .45 ACP.

The one downside to Titegroup is it's pretty dense. Make sure you have your loading process down to eliminate the chance of a double charge in that big old case.

tightgroup is great for 45ACP

I use it with Bear Creek 230gn FN

4.5gn makes for a "factory like" load that shoots great out of my kimber

I've used it under 185 HB. It was ok, I prefer 231 or Unique but, in answer to the OP's question, it can easily be used for .45ACP

I use it for .45 Colt, and a buddy uses it for .45 ACP. In both cases, it works great. It's a very versatile powder.

Good to hear, I ran out of 231! Just finished my first 8 pound keg! Titegroup is what I have left.

Anyone else find it dirty? It would leave 2" of carbon near the muzzle of my USP after only 1-200 rounds.

I'm not in the majority here....I found TG to be very dirty and accuracy suffered tremendously.

Just my experience anyway, obviously others have had better experiences than me with TG.

It's the only powder I've been using since I first started reloading...Only one time I had to use the 231 because Powder valley ran out of TG.

On .45acp, I reload w/ all kinds of bullets SWC, RN, FP, etc. in 185gr/200gr/230gr hardcast & FMJ and they all shoot very well...I do not really care about whether it's dirty or not because all brass need to be tumble-cleaned & polished before reloading so it's not a big problem for me. Besides, it's more economical when using TG compared to other powders.

I heard it depends on your load..... whatever that means .
I shot 900 rounds of 45acp with TG on my RIA and I started getting FTF(3) close to the 900 mark. If I was to compare it to the factory Federal load, it might be just as dirty.
BTW: I use 4.7gr of TG, 200gr RN X-treme Bullet.
