How much did they quote you?

I made a frame out of PVC and put some Velcro tape on it. I stick an old towel over the frame, and it channels the brass I shoot into a bin. It's abotn 90% effective if you shoot from the bench.

That thing looks pretty badass. It appears to work way better than the brassmower I have been using. $89 is a no-brainer.

Tarps work well if you are shooting static, but if you incorporate any movement in your drills, then that route works marginally well. Static range, great idea. Tactical shooting, something to trip over.

I was at a Kyle Lamb class years ago and we were shooting around cars. He put down tarps, but we ended up getting more glass shards from shooting the shiznit out of cars, rather than brass. Still had to hand pick it all. This Ammo up thing would have been awesome at the time.

The nut/brass/ammo wizards are pretty good on concrete surfaces and are great in dirt if you don't mind tossing out lots of rocks.
We tried a tarp out at Panoche last time and it was a bust. Wind got under it and dumped brass off, People tripped over the edges. It was a mess. Maybe on a calmer day.
My best pickup tools out there have been a rake, shovel and sifter
It probably is the fastest/most efficient method of all that I've tried out there.

Big canvas painters drop cloth so you don't burn holes in a tarp. Rocks around the edges to hold it down. Depression in the ground located at the center area. Pour it all into a 5 gal bucket.

Caldwell catches my brass before it hits the ground.

I just put my order in for one as well. For those who are interested the link now has an online ordering section with a promo-code for the $89 pre-order deal with free shipping. It looks like they are planning to start shipping sometime between April 23-30, so jump on this now if you want to save some money.

                    Hmm that Ammo-up looks interesting..

Im currently using the 'scrounge around on the ground like a crackhead' method.

I have seen some guys bring some kind of brass picker similar to this one http://www.uniquetek.com/site/696296/product/T1310

                        Anyone has experience with these?

What would you recommend for a time efficient way to gather spent brass?

Save a few $$ and get the original if you have to have one:

They work okay outside, but the second that you get the wires caught around a rim of a shell, they hold the wires open so other shells can escape.... Time to empty at that point.

The ammoup product that looks like a little broom that picks up shells might be the better way to go.

Caldwell brass retriever. Awesome tool. Also get brass sorter trays.

Brass collecting and sorting used to be a massive chore. Now it's a breeze.

They're not liberals, they're leftists. Please don't use the former for the latter. Liberals are Locke, Jefferson, Burke, Hayek. Leftists are progressives, Prussian state-socialists, fascists. Liberals stand against the state and unequivocally support liberty. Leftists support state tyranny.

Thank you for telling us that. I was afraid to ask at HF. Now I feel confident that I will not be walking around for hours over there later today looking for something that can't be found...
