Where are you guys getting your brass? I found some on gunbroker that was resized from .223, but it didn't say if it was annealed or not so I passed. Do you guys prefer 300 blk cases or the resized stuff? I can't seem to find new stuff for sale , even on 300blktalk.com

Great link! That's pretty easy, and I'm just gonna make it myself. Thanks guysComment

Will do. Should I buy a case trimmer, or just go the cheap route and get a saw like the guy in the link. Money is not an issue so I have no problem buying the case trimmerComment

You will have to trim down a LOT of that 223 with a case trimmer. That's a lot of hand cranking, or a lot of 'work' for the Dillon case trimmer.
I'm really not sure. Cutting them off seems like the quickest way to remove that much excess brass. In that thread that was linked are links (on the later pages) to people that sell resized/trimmed 223 as 300BLK for reasonable prices.Comment

I make my own as well.
Took me about 3 days to do about 800 cases.
I sized them, then used a dremel to cut them down and then hooked a drill up to my hand trimmer.
I'm in an SF condo, so I don't have a huge workspace or major power tools so it was a little more difficult and took longer than most.
17.1 grs of H110 and a 125 grain pill seems to be the 'happy place' for my rifle.______________________________________

Did you anneal them? I'm wondering if I can justify buying one to prolong the brass life. It's about $450 for an automatic oneComment

Some guys like their powder like their women, hot, cheap, dirty, that would be TiteGroup. -CocoBoloComment

It's much cheaper to just keep making brass.Comment

I just resize .223 / 5.56 brass, and anneal it with a Geraud annealer, and trim to proper OAL on .......... A Geraud trimmer. you can't beat the Geraud tools, they are expensive, but worth every cent.
To cut it down initially, we used to use a 10 case jig in a CNC to cut them down, and then all of the above, but now we use a Dillon case trimmer with an adapter so it will cut the .223 brass down to the correct .300 BO length. It actaully works quite well, just noisy with a big shop vac running to suck off the chips.Comment
