    sorry rant off
Don't be a nomenclature Nazi, the word "recipe" is perfectly fitting and illustrative relative to the components and quantities used. Load can also refer to the weight of cargo, the act of placing cargo in a conveyance (as in load that rail car), the amount of amperage or watts consumed, or the contents of a diaper. However, using the terms such as "pill" for bullet, "tube" for a barrel, or "bullet for a cartridge, is strictly forbidden by the International Association of Firearms Pundits. You are also forbidden from using terms such as, "The bullet struck the old buck in the boiler room". Inasmuch as game animals are seldom found in boiler rooms, and discharging a firearm in a boiler room would risk a high pressure steam leak, which could prove fatal, we should not encourage unsafe hunting practices.

I love it when an honest question turns into a pissing contest over something completely un-related.

Excuse me, I meant to say urination contest.

          back to topic

once you resize most of the dents will be gone

          reload like any other round

then once you shoot it the dent will be pushed out
I will share my opinion and my load data, BUT I am just a guy with too many cigars and too many guns. Whatever I say is probably wrong.

I find that the dingle-hoppers don't do anything, and resizing won't iron them out (since they dent inwards). But bustin' them caps in your springer will push the dents out.

Mostly likely one of your shootin' arns is denting the case as it ejects and hits the top of the slide on it's way out of the ejection port. (Or Fling-Pinger as I like to call it)

when you decap and resize, most of it will come out. The belling of the mouth will finish rounding it out the rest of the way.

This type of body dent is inconsequential. Even if it were a high pressure round, this still isn't enough to worry about. On a .45 acp, you can have much more damage than this and still be OK.

Damm, someone had cheerios with yellow milk this morning.

+1 for using a dowel or needle nose pliers to round out the mouth somewhat first. That not only helps it go in the sizing die, but will prevent a strip being cut out by expander if it doesn't get perfectly rounded outward. I've never had a gun that does that to brass though, I've never had a springer either. Just a rocky commandee and a hecky

What about scraches on the cases? I find sometimes I step on the spent cases and they get these gashes on them from grit on their outsides. I tried taking multiple pictures but none that look show the gashes. I will try taking pics again tonight.

Meh.... the question usually gets answered before the urination starts at least.

Gotta go now. Gotta load up some clips to take my Rocky to the range...

Scratches are no problem, in my opinion. As someone else stated, I'd be wary of cracks. Bulges are a problem too. Those should be tossed out.

I've reloaded worse. As long as it isn't cracked or shredded strips I'll run it. Damaged brass gets recycled. Those should go through the resizing ok, if not, not a big deal, recycle 'em for more ammo money. And if calling it a "recipe" makes you happy, go for it! Now if you'll 'scuse me, Imma gowinna load sum clips fo mah shotty.
