    Would you reload these?

I'm just getting into the reloading. My tumbler kit came today so I put it together and fed it a load of .45 acp cases. When I got them out of the tumbler, I noticed a peculiar dent on about half my cases. So the question: would you reload these?

    [IMG][/IMG]

I have two .45 pistols, and right now I don't know which one is doing this. It's either a sig p220 or a springer 1911. I'll check the brass from each next time I have them out. Any ideas on what could be causing these dents? The recoil spring in the sig was getting really weak, and I changed it out before the last session. I have no idea if these cases were dented before that session or what.

Next, I have a few cases with a dented mouth like these:

Will these go through the resizing die OK or are these scrap?

That's fine, one (or more) of your guns dents cases. Completely normal. They'll look fine after you've run them through the size/deprime die.

As long as they're not cracked you should be good. The only way they wouldn't be is if they are so bent that your re-sizing die crushes them. My 1911 dings my brass pretty good and I've reused it all. I think you'll be fine.

Yikes! Who pee'd in your Post Toasties?

To the OP, that's typical-condition once-fired brass, and can probably be reloaded 5-6 times before it fails.

Those will do fine. If a .45ACP case will fit into my sizer/decapper it gets loaded.

I agree with that sentiment. Reloading is serious business. Keep the cutsey out of it or take up airsoft.

You may find that rounding the dents on the case mouth with a dowel or something similar will cut down on the number of die-crushed cases. The case wall dents will either size out or shoot out.

It's not being cute; they're called recipes. I've been reloading for 40 years; that's what the powder companies call them.
