44 mag shells not fitting into 44 mag shell holder...

Every now and then there is a shell or two that seems like they might be a tad out of roudness. Like, I can try to put the shell in the shellholder but it will not fit, but if I rotate the shell a bit it will slide right in. SOMETIMES they will not fit at all no matter how much I rotate them.

Is there a way to fix that because sometimes it is a PITA to get them into the holders without fighting with them. And of course it SUCKS to then try to get them out...

They aren't fitting because of burrs on the rim. Like said above, you can file them back to spec.

Gotta be done by hand though eh?

I am afraid of having a 44 mag rim that feels like a canadian penny when I am done..

I have no idea if this would work so play with the concept at your owns risk but

If you could make a drill bit of a "female" 44 mag shape. Then place the bit into something spinning, drill or prep station of some sort. Try to true the rims up.

Once again I don't know if it would work but if the idea were developed I thing something might work.
I will share my opinion and my load data, BUT I am just a guy with too many cigars and too many guns. Whatever I say is probably wrong.

            Hmmmmm.

Kinda like a case trimmer except for the rim...

I wil have to think of that but until then I will resort to some emery cloth and spinning the cases inside it for a few seconds... :\
