    Experience with Berry's Shipping?

I just found out that I'll be able to shoot the Reno GSSF match next week which is great but I have about 90 Bullets left which isn't so great. I ordered a thousand from them earlier today and was wondering if they ship pretty quickly? I need at least 250 in all for 2 divisions (+ possible reshoots).

If not, any local bay area shops that carry berry's 124g RN for 9mm?

They are in Utah or Nevada? I heard they get it out decently. Why do you use Berry's and not Rainiers?

Wouldn't hurt to call them Monday and find out if there's anything they can do to make sure you get the order in time. Jay's a good guy and may be able to help you out. I've had shipments delivered quickly in the past, but it's been with bullets that were in stock. Hope yours are and you get them in time.

I started reloading using Berry's and never had a problem with them so I don't see a need to change to another brand.

Or are you really trying to get your point across?

OP - Last time I ordered ammo boxes from Berry's the arrived in just a couple days.

I was asking to see why people preferred Berry's over Rainiers but then I thought about it and decided to just make a new thread because this was prolly not the right place to keep asking people. I have no point, just seeking a reason to go to Berry's or some other brand that is decent and cheaper then rainiers but so far I am having a tough time finding a reason. I thought it might be because someone would say they are rated faster but I was on their site last night and found no indication that they are any faster then the Rainiers that I have been using. But I want to push them to 1600fps and that is a nono. I also see Berry's being sold in Turner's Outdoorsman but they do not sell Rainiers. I always thought that if Rainiers were so great that they would be more popular. But they are not for some reason. I guess I overanalyze everything when it comes to reloading so I am just trying to make heads or tales out of this whole plated bullet thing. :\

If you ordered them on Saturday, I'd be surprised if you don't have them in hand by Wednesday. My last order, last weekend, worked out that way.

The first plated bullets I loaded were HSM, because Sportsmans Warehouse stocks them. Next time I tried some Berrys, because Cabelas had them on sale and I had a Cabelas gift card I needed to use. The next ones I bought were from X-Treme, because a Calgunner was selling them cheap.

If you're going for 1600 FPS, get jacketed bullets. Even Rainier states 1200 - 1250 FPS on their website as a maximum velocity. I'm loading 9MM and .45ACP, so 1200 FPS isn't even in my vocabulary for those rounds. For .357, .44 and .460 S&W Magnum loads, I buy jacketed bullets.

Try precisiondelta.com for jacket bullets for just a little more $$$ than plated.

Precision delta are jerks. They do not sell 44 mag jacketed rounds... Oh believe me I was REALLY hoping that they would. They DO seem to have some of the best prices around for jacketed rounds except that lately I have found a good source for them through ballistic arms. That guy can get things a few dollars cheaper then everyone else it seems.

I am happy with being able to hit 1300 or less with my Deagle on the 44 mag plated bullets. Yesterday the plated rounds seemed to do just fine between 1200-1300 fps...

I use Berry's because they were being sold at the local gun show when i was first getting components and were cheap. I haven't had an issue with them so there isn't really a need for me to change manufacturers("if it aint broke" type mentality). I get very consistent readings out of my loads so i'm happy with them and their product.

I've learned that reloading is like buying a car. Everyone has their favorites, price range and comforts. You got to test drive a car to see what you like best...you try different loads and components till you also see what you like best.
